CAORLE
Caorle is a seaside resort on the Adriatic Sea, situated between the mouths of rivers Livenza and Lemene and between the beach resorts Eraclea and Bibione, about an hour away from Venice.

Today the old town center of Caorle is a wonderful tangle of narrow streets and beautiful old houses painted in pastel colors that reminds the island of Burano, but in the past it was the daily life of fishermen and the town was an island crossed by channels now buried, of which remains only the Canale Varrogio entering in the town to form the fishing port.

the tower bell in Caorle The symbol of the town is the bell tower of the eleventh century, with its typical cylindrical shape with conical tip, slightly leaning towards the Cathedral of Santon Stefano, whose Byzantine-style interior, house numerous masterpieces of art, such as "L'ultima Cena" (The Last Supper) attributed to Gregorio Lazzarini, a particular "Pietà" in gilded wood and the Pala d'Oro, donated by the queen of Cyprus, Caterina Cornaro.
The bell tower, during the summer, often hosts shows of fireworks.

The tower is located on piazza Vescovado, where on one side, a stairway leads to the seafront and the opposite side leads to Rio Tera, the central street crossed by numerous streets and small roads called, as in Venice, calli.
Between calli and campielli and old Venetian houses, the past mix with the present of the lights of shops, restaurants, pizzerias, bars and pubs, also numerous at Lungomare Trieste (Spiaggia di Levante), viale S. Margherita and Lungomare Venezia (Spiaggia di Ponente).

Caorle Madonna dell'Angelo Another symbol of the city of Caorle is the church of Madonna dell'Angelo, erected in commemoration of the discovery in the sea, by fishermen, of a statue of the Madonna and Child, and arrival point of the long seafront promenade, bordered by rocks carved and decorated by artists from around the world, during the event "Scogliera Viva".
